We are almost ready to travel, the time is short (in a hurry) and we are actually in the middle of training course in Peacekeeping Operations. I’ll be deployed to MONUSCA; the mission is in Republic Democratic of Congo.
I thought that it will be a good experience for me, because I’ll be working with people from all backgrounds, and diversities: race, ethnicity, language, sex, gender, physical appearances, physical abilities, clothing norms, eating habits and food preferences, religion, concepts of time, ways of working and perspectives on priorities, body language and meanings of gestures, style of communicating, etc., this knowledge would be important for me because I will learn many things there, also as un peacekeeping personnel, I have the obligation to protect human rights, including the rights of children and women affected by conflict, I’ll be an ambassador of the UN and representing my country.
